Privacy policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit manulorenzo.com or contact me, and what your rights are under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Regulation 2016/679) and Italian data protection law (D.Lgs. 196/2003 as amended).
Who is responsible
The data controller is José Manuel Jiménez Lorenzo, Via Mazzini 49, 34122 Trieste, Italy. You can reach me at [email protected].
What data is processed
When you visit the site
The site does not use cookies, does not load advertising or tracking tools and does not ask you to log in. Fonts and images are served from the site itself, so your browser does not contact third parties such as Google Fonts.
Like any website, the hosting provider (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) automatically records technical data in server logs when a page is requested: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser type and referring page. These logs are used only to keep the site running and secure and are kept for a limited period set by the provider. The legal basis is legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
To understand how many people visit the site, I use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data or track you across websites.
When you email me
If you write to me, I receive your email address, your name and whatever you include in your message. I use this only to reply and, if we work together, to manage that work. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or my legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)). I keep this correspondence for as long as needed for that purpose and for any period required by law (for example, Italian tax rules for business records).
Who sees your data
I do not sell or share your data. It may be processed by the providers that run this site and my email (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA for hosting, Apple (iCloud Mail) for email), acting on my behalf. Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; where they do, transfers rely on the safeguards provided by the GDPR, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Links to other sites
The site links to LinkedIn. If you follow that link, LinkedIn's own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format (Articles 15–22 GDPR). Write to [email protected] and I will reply within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
